In the past 15 years, without doubt, the big news in Jonesboro media has been the emergence of a new radio leader: the Triple FM Radio Group, which has grown to now the Jonesboro Radio Group!
The Triple FM Radio Group was first conceived in November, 1993 when veteran broadcasters Bill Pressly and Trey Stafford teamed up to purchase KDXY. In March, 1994 they bought a second station, KDEZ (now KEGI). Partner Kevin Neathery joined the team in February, 1995. In September, 1997 the group added KJBX to form the "Triple FM Radio Group". In December, 2008, the HD Radio (digital) upgrade KDXY provided the technology leading to creation of a fourth FM signal for the group, Hot 107.5, the analog rebroadcast of the new digital KDXY-HD2. In November, 2009, another HD Radio channel was added to KDXY. KDXY-HD3 is the fifth signal, broadcasting True Oldies 92.7 on the HD3 channel as well as 92.7FM.
Jonesboro Radio Group features now five FM towers, all in Craighead County, with studios in the historic 1905 Max Meyer building at 314 Union in Downtown Jonesboro.
The three original Jonesboro Radio Group stations target 18-54 year old adults with the top three formats: Country, Adult Contemporary and Classic Hits. Hot 107.5, targets 18-34 year old adults with our new "Tough 40" rhythmic format. Our newest signal, True Oldies 92.7, targets 35-64 adults with its music blend of the 60s and 70s. Jonesboro Radio Group advertisers enjoy, by far, the largest radio listening audience in the Jonesboro market.
At Jonesboro Radio Group, outperforming the competition isn't just a trend, it's a tradition!
And when it comes to Community Service, no other group can compete! That's why Jonesboro Radio Group is the only SIX time winner of the prestigious Community Service Award presented each year by the Arkansas Broadcasters Convention. This award includes large market radio and TV stations statewide and, so far, no other station in Jonesboro has ever won this award. And, no group in history has ever won it five times!
KDXY is a two-time winner, and three-time nominee, of the Country Radio Broadcasters "Humanitarian Award" presented each year at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville.
You can't argue with success! And there's no question, the Jonesboro Radio Group offers advertisers, by far, the best media value in Jonesboro!
